The Super Eagles of Nigeria Beat Iceland 2 – 0 To Keep Hope Alive Of Qualifying from group stage to the knockout stage.
Two goals at the second half from the Super Eagles Forward, Ahmed Musa sealed the victory for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in an afternoon encounter against Iceland who drew with Argentina in their first encounter in group D.
With this win, the hope of Nigeria qualifying from the group stage to the knockout stage has been ignited and with a 50/50% which now depends on the outcome of their next game against Argentina.
Currently now, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are now in second position after Croatia who defeated the Eagles 2 goals to 0 and also defeated Argentina 3 goals to 0 in an encounter they had late evening on Thursday.
Even though they are second position, the chances of qualifying is not 100%. Why ? because the next 3rd game matters a lot. if they can either win or draw, then they will qualify based on goal difference and points but if the loss to Argentina and Iceland loss to Croatia, then Argentina will qualify but if Iceland win Croatia and Argentina wins Nigeria, then the qualifications will now be based on number of goals conceived or goal difference.
